Little Big Planet 2 Preview

Releasing only for the console of the Sony PlayStation 3 is the game Little Big Planet 2. The date at which this game will be available for gamers has not been figured out yet but it is known that it will be some time at the end of this year. This game, that has been developed by Media Molecule, is a sequel to a game which was played by a lot of people.

The following is a preview that has been given to the game:

“So Little Big Planet 2, which Evans and Healey revealed at the event (in pre alpha form), is not a major departure from its predecessor – no “reboots” here. Rather than revamp the first game, Media Molecule is building on the Little Big Planet foundation, making the Little a bit bigger. Sackboy’s still here, as are the stickers and the Popit level creation interface. Little Big Planet 2 will even maintain backward compatibility with all those Little Big Planet 1 levels – in fact, they’ll look just a tad crisper and shinier with Little Big Planet 2’s refined graphics engine.”

Make sure to look into this game when the date that it will come out gets closer as there will be more details by then.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Preview

Coming out soon for the Sony PlayStation Portable is the game that is known as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The date at which this game is going to become available to you is on June 8th of this year. In this action game, that has been published by Konami, you need to try to keep the peace throughout the nation without the help of a military.

The following is a preview which has been given to the game:

“I have gotten into the habit of walking into game previews completely blind as of late. Call it tunnel vision, call it too much attention to games when they’re done and sent to me with a shiny plastic case, but I have not been keeping up with Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as much as my compatriots, and only made slight headway through the downloadable demo. But that did not stop me from attending Konami’s Peace Walker themed “Boot Camp” a few weeks back in San Francisco. Boy, was I in for a surprise.”

Make sure to check out this game again when the release dates is nearer.

3D Dot Game Heroes Review

Coming out for the Sony PlayStation 3 is the game, 3D Dot Game Heroes. Releasing exclusively for the PS3, the action, role playing game will be available starting on the day of May 11th of this year.

Here is a brief review which has been given to this game:

“3D Dot Game Heroes rips off The Legend of Zelda, but it does so in the most complimentary way possible. 3D Dot Game Heroes is an attempt to develop a video game we all wish Nintendo would create but know in our hearts likely never will: a brand-new old school Zelda. If Nintendo won’t do it, Japanese developer Silicon Studios must have thought to themselves: ‘Okay, then. We will.’ The end product of high-definition nostalgia is one filled of mixed results, and it’s had me circling back to the biggest question I’ve asked about 3D Dot Game Heroes: so, is it any good? That’s a loaded question that requires a complicated answer. It’s a yes…and a no.”

Be sure to check out more details about 3D Dot Game Heroes as the release date comes closer.

SOCOM 4 Coming this Fall

Recently, there was an announcement that was given by Sony saying that the game SOCOM 4 is a game, from Zipper, which is not only getting worked at right now, but it is going to be coming out already in the fall this year. At the moment, there are hardly any details about the game. However, the following is what Jeremy Dunham, the manager of the Zipper community, had to say about the game thus far:

“A militant revolutionary has unexpectedly seized control in an important South Asian country. As the Ops Com, your mission is to command an elite five-man squad charged with stopping his aggressive agenda before it’s too late. In only six days, you must lead your team through a hostile jungle and urban environments against an army of well-armed rebel insurgents that completely outnumber you. We’re still fully committed to supporting MAG for a long, long time, and the addition of another game in our lineup doesn’t change that.”

To all you SOCOM fans, are there any specific things you are looking for in this next game?

Sony Might Change the Charge for PSN

There are many rumors that have been going around about Sony saying that they could possibly introduce a premiere tier service for the PlayStation Network. Well these rumors certainly begin to get more valid when Sony executives start to talk about them.

“Why don’t we charge for [PlayStation Network]?” said Sony’s Vice President of marketing, Peter Dille. “It’s been our philosophy not to charge for it from launch up until now, but Kaz [Hirai, head of Sony games] recently went on the record as saying that’s something we’re looking at. I can confirm that as well. That’s something that we’re actively thinking about. What’s the best way to approach that if we were to do that? You know, no announcements at this point in time, but it’s something we’re thinking about.”

Luckily, as of right now there are not any signs that Sony plans to take away its largest marketing advantage that it has over Xbox Live which is the ability to play online multiplayer at no cost.

Are there any specific features that you would pay for in a premium service?

Sony’s Motion Controller

Even though Microsoft may have gotten a head start on Sony by launching their motion controller first, Sony is attempting to be the first one to actually come out with it. Recently, Sony has announced that the motion controller will be releasing in the fall of 2010. They will be coming out with the controller along with a lot of new games to play along with it.

Sony president Kazuo Hirai described in a statement:

“We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with.  We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expands and defines the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home.”

Sony also talked of their plans to “vigorously promote the Motion Controller as the de facto controller of the PS3 platform along with the DUALSHOCK series controller.”

Microsoft’s Project Natal has one other thing over Sony. The name that will be presented to Sony’s controller is still unknown while Microsoft has had a title for a pretty long time. Make sure to keep checking for new information about these two motion controllers!
