Ice Age 3 for the iPhone

Many of you have seen the recent movie, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Now you will be able to experience this movie in a whole new way. In this game, based on the anticipated film by Fox, join an unlikely herd of pals for there most entertaining adventure yet. You will be able to play as one of the six popular Ice Age characters in this game. Help them on their rescue mission as they move out of the snow and into the unknown land of the dinosaurs. This land is a scary jungle filled with plants and most importantly dangerous dinosaurs. Coming out on the iPhone on Monday, November 30, this game was developed by Chillingo.

Here are some of the features of the game:

  • Choose who you play as from all of the six different characters that you know and love from the great Ice Age movies.
  • Play all of the different new challenges. Investigate the entirely new dinosaur world but make sure to watch out for all of the dangers that hide within it.
  • There are many different modes for you to play and compete in with your friends and family.

World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em for iPhone

Even though poker is definitely not as popular as it has been in the past, there are still many players and fans of this game who are still dedicated to it. Hands-On Mobile is coming out with a game for the iPhone called World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em. This game will soon be debuting in the App Store. This game is complete with online multiplayer and persistent profiles. On the iPhone,  many features have been Incorporated with the iPhone’s touch screen including flicking the cards if you wish to fold and you can place your bet by sliding the virtual wheel.

The first thing that will happen when you begin a game will be that the announcer, Mike Sexton, will greet you. This really helps for you to get into the game like it is real. There are going to be a couple of recognizable players at the table. One of these famous poker players you will notice is Chris Ferguson. There are a couple modes you can play. One is a single player mode fitted with free play and uses the last man standing setting. However, the more exciting mode is the online multiplayer. Since you will not be able  to read their faces, you will have to find your own unique strategies to win. With the online multiplayer mode you will be able to chat with the other players. Another mode that will be available occasionally is live tournaments. This will be a way for you to really test your skills.

For any poker fans, I strongly recommend buying this interesting and exciting game.

Gameloft Beats Madden to iPhone

Madden NFL is the most well know NFL video game franchise, because it’s the only one. After signing exclusivity rights to the NFL franchise back in 2005 (NFL 2k5 was the last non-Madden game), Madden has had no competition with their games that they have been allowed to slack and release games on their own schedule. With mobile devices slowly being made to handle games, it appears EA Sports made a mistake, they didn’t get rights to mobile devices as well. Possibly because there was no intention of making a mobile game in the future, or maybe they just didn’t see the mobile industry being this capable of playing a game.

Whatever the reason, it appears that Madden is not the only NFL game on a mobile device, in fact, it’s not even going to be the first one. Gameloft has released some of the first screenshots of their game, and I have to admit, it looks pretty solid. The graphics by no means compete with a console (unless we’re talking N64 here), but they are good enough for a mobile game. This iPhone game has been promised to be released before August comes to an end. Madden plans on releasing one as well, who knows when they will though. If you’re looking for a decent iPhone game, check this out. There has been no mention on pricing though.

Assassins Creed iPhone

I didn’t know anything about this until now, it’s release. Gameloft developed the app for the iPhone and it just released to the app store. There is apparently seen hours of gameplay on this small little application. Whether it will consist of the same eagle spot climbs, spying, pickpocketing, and endless sword to sword battles that you win no matter how outnumbered you are, is to me, a mystery. I hope this doesn’t continue on the app.

Assassins Creed: Altiars Chronicles is going to put you in the shoes of Altiar again for some epic quest that will apparently end the crusades by stealing a simple chalice from the templars. This seems to be one of the more promising iPhone games that I’ve heard of, but we’ll see how the graphics and interface of the hit video game transfer over to the mobile platform. Get pumped for Assassins Creed II. It’s starting to look pretty amazing.
