Guitar Hero: Smash Hits

Activision has just announced the release date for the Guitar Hero: Smash Hits game. On June 16th you will be able to pick up your copy of the game and play through all of the big songs previously released for Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. This will give you a chance to remaster all of these favorites, as well as play the drums and vocals for them.

So far we have only been told about these songs being selected; however there are many more to come. There will be a total of 48 Smash Hits. Whether they will add more Smash Hits in the DLC, or if they will bundle some new songs into the game I’m not quite sure. Here are the songs selected as of this point in time.

Guitar Hero
“Killer Queen” – Queen
“I Love Rock ‘n Roll” – Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
“Bark at the Moon” – Ozzy Osbourne

Guitar Hero II
“Them Bones” – Alice in Chains
“Killing in the Name” – Rage Against The Machine
“Message in a Bottle” – The Police
“Carry on Wayward Son” – Kansas
“Free Bird” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s
“I Wanna Rock” – Twisted Sister
“Nothin but a Good Time” – Poison

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
“Barracuda” – Heart
“Through the Fire and Flames” – DragonForce
