Call of Duty: World at War Double EXP Weekend

This weekend has been announced as a double experience weekend for all online users of the most popular game, Call of Duty: World at War. It’s very simple for those of you who are new to the game. On weekends that they announce as a double experience weekend, every single game you play, whether it be headquarters or deathmatch, you will receive twice the experience points per game as you usually would have received otherwise. This includes everything from each individual kill, to the matchmaking bonus after the game.

Nothing like climbing through the ranks with a nice long weekend with double experience games. If there was ever a weekend to play a lot of headquarters matches, this is that weekend.This is by far the greatest experience game in CoD: WaW.

Gears of War 2 Troubles Persist

Just when we thought that things couldn’t have gotten any worse with the sequel to the award winning Gears of War game, another big problem pops up. Gamers of the PC version of Gears of War 2 have recently been reporting that they are unable to play the game even if they have purchased a legit license to go with their games. These digital certificates have apparently expired and the only way for these gamers to get back in the game is by setting back their system clock to make their computer believe they are in their proper time span.

The irony of this situation is that the people who were supposed to be targeted, the pirates, are those using illegal copies of the game. These users; however, are still gaming hard. It appears that Gears of War has yet another problem that they need to fix urgently. I think they rushed into the release of this game. They probably could have used a few month delay like GTA IV was forced to do.

Has this problem been fixed yet? It started on January 28th, and gamers will continue to experience this as the days go on until a fix is found. What is the biggest problem with the new Gears of War game in your opinions?

FunTown Mahjong Goes to Xbox Live Arcade

Microsoft’s most recent addition to the Xbox Live Arcade collection is a rather popular game called FunTown Mahjong. This game can be downloaded and added to your collection for only 800 Microsoft Points. I believe it’s both a single player and multiplayer game. It’s not quite the same as the American version you might have played with your friends, rather the traditional Chinese version.

I’ve never played this game in real life or on the arcade. Let me know if it’s any fun and worth the $10 to download. I’m not too much for the arcade games when they are this expensive, but you might be a big fan of the game.

Xbox Most Played Games

Gears of War 2 is dropping in the most played games of recent. Call of Duty has the top two games which is surprising. I guess not everybody has upgraded yet. If you are looking for a good game to play, you can pretty much choose any of the games in these lists. They are all guaranteed to give you a great time as they are the best out there.

February Guitar Hero World Tour DLC

Next month we will be enjoying the songs of Bob Segar, Paul McCartney, The Shins, and Ryan Adam’s on Guitar Hero World Tour! The following is a list of the nine songs that will become available for us download next month, no matter the system. Personally, I don’t think any of the download-able content is worth it unless you know a song, and enjoy it as any song pack I’ve randomly downloaded before was pretty bad.

February 12th: The Acoustic Track Pack

* Incubus: “Drive
* The Shins: “New Slang
* Ryan Adams: “Wonderwall”

February 19th: Paul McCartney’s Wings Pack

* “Junior’s Farm”
* “Hi Hi Hi”
* “Jet”

February 26th: Bob Seger Track Pack:

* “Old Time Rock and Roll”
* “Her Strut”
* “Get Out of Denver” (live version)

The cost of the content is about the same on all gaming platforms. It costs 440 Microsoft Points per set, or 160 Microsoft Points for a single song. The Playstation Network has made them available for $5.50, or $1.99 for a single song. Finally, the Wii has singles for 200 points. I’m truly excited to see more content is being added to the Wii live network, this is a big step forward for Nintendo and the Wii.

Dawn of War II Demo Available

The Dawn of War II demo is now available for free to any steam user who wants to download the game. From the sounds of it, the game is pretty intense. Remember me writing about this a few days ago? About how GameStop is not going to be shelving the game, potentially because of Steam getting the rights to release the demo? Well it looks like the demo was a bigger success than it would have been if released at GameStop.

Let me know how you enjoy the demo. What are the pro’s and con’s of the demo? Better or worse than the original (gears of war 2… it is possible to make it worse).

Resident Evil 5 Demo Available

The Resident Evil 5 Demo is available to all those of you who are Xbox 360 gamers out there. You can download it for free in the Xbox Live Marketplace. They are giving us the entire package here. You can play the single player, split-screen, and even the Xbox Live multiplayer.

With such a big game like this giving us the opportunity to play it, without having to buy Crackdown, or reserve games early, could be the smartest move in the gaming industry. If this is a killer game it will spread like mad. With GoW2 failing, and CoD WaW not living up to CoD 4 we have room for another big title. If you get a chance, download this and give it a shot.
