Beat it! to iPhone and iPod Touch

Beat it! is an upcoming game for the iPhone and iPod touch. It is not a rhythm game. It is a music game. In this game you do not just need to hit the notes with the beat, you must deconstruct a music clip and then try to recreate it. This game is believed to have much potential.

Here is how the game works: A short clip is played while you listen to it a couple times in order to get the notes down. After that, you tap squares on a grid in order to create a line of music which sounds like the clip you just heard. You have the ability to turn squares on or off by simply tapping them. While you create the clip, a line moves over the grid and plays your selection. If you have placed a correct note in the right place of a measure then the square will sparkle. There is five different worlds that you must beat and each world gets harder and harder as you go. For example, new instruments will keep getting added represented by a new line added onto the grid.

A game mode that may interest people is the free play mode which allows you to make your own music clips. Soon after the games release, a feature that will allow you to share your clips and comment on other players clips.

This game will be available in late October for the price of $2.99.

Madden NFL 10

Madden fans are now able to add a couple more hours of Madden play each day. You do not need to be at home to play this game anymore because Madden NFL 10 is now available for the iPhone and the iPod Touch in the Apple App Store. This mobile version of the game still includes much of its authenticity with around 2,000 players from every single one of the 32 teams. One very familiar feature that will also be included in the mobile version of Madden 10 is the unique commentary from John Madden, Tom Hammond, Cris Collinsworth and more.

One unique feature that is new is that you will have the ability to make your own passing routes by drawing them out. Also, you will be able to better pick the right move for each situation by using slow-motion in the Action Control Time.

Another great thing is that if you receive a phone call or text message while playing the game, the game will pause right where you left off and when you are ready to continue playing it will be ready for you again.

This game is currently available for the sale price of $7.99. However, this price will not last for long because at 8:30 PM EST Thursday, it will cost $9.99.

Gameloft Beats Madden to iPhone

Madden NFL is the most well know NFL video game franchise, because it’s the only one. After signing exclusivity rights to the NFL franchise back in 2005 (NFL 2k5 was the last non-Madden game), Madden has had no competition with their games that they have been allowed to slack and release games on their own schedule. With mobile devices slowly being made to handle games, it appears EA Sports made a mistake, they didn’t get rights to mobile devices as well. Possibly because there was no intention of making a mobile game in the future, or maybe they just didn’t see the mobile industry being this capable of playing a game.

Whatever the reason, it appears that Madden is not the only NFL game on a mobile device, in fact, it’s not even going to be the first one. Gameloft has released some of the first screenshots of their game, and I have to admit, it looks pretty solid. The graphics by no means compete with a console (unless we’re talking N64 here), but they are good enough for a mobile game. This iPhone game has been promised to be released before August comes to an end. Madden plans on releasing one as well, who knows when they will though. If you’re looking for a decent iPhone game, check this out. There has been no mention on pricing though.

Popular Activision Titles to Mobile Phones

Activision and Glu Mobile announced a  partnership yesterday that will allow Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Tony Hawk: Ride, Guitar Hero 5, Blur, and Crash: Mutant Island to mobile phones. The iPhone is not among the mobile phones that will be getting the games, despite it being the obvious best fit phone to suit the games. If you own an Android, Blackberry, BREW, J2ME, or Windows Mobile phone then you will be able to purchase these games once they release.

How exactly are gamers supposed to play a game like Call of Duty on a mobile phone? Even with a touch screen it wouldn’t be very realistic to just point to shoot. A game like Guitar Hero 5 would be a better match with some sort of bluetooth DS type handheld buttons.

If you are an iPhone owner, don’t rule out these games coming for sure. Activision has expressed great interest in developing games for the iPhone already. Glu Mobile is only creating for these limited phones, but another company could receive the rights to create and publish versions for the iPhone as well. Expect these versions to launch around a month after the console versions of these games come out.

Assassins Creed iPhone Trailer

A few days ago I told you guys there was going to be a game on the iPhone. The game is Assassins Creed, and it’s actually not looking that bad. You have to keep in mind that this is a simple phone game and that eventhough the graphics are pretty bad, compared to other phone based games, especially of that size, it has some pretty great graphics for a phone. This would actually be something I’d consider buying once I confirm that the game is unique and actually goes along with the story line of the Assassins Creed genre.

Assassins Creed iPhone

I didn’t know anything about this until now, it’s release. Gameloft developed the app for the iPhone and it just released to the app store. There is apparently seen hours of gameplay on this small little application. Whether it will consist of the same eagle spot climbs, spying, pickpocketing, and endless sword to sword battles that you win no matter how outnumbered you are, is to me, a mystery. I hope this doesn’t continue on the app.

Assassins Creed: Altiars Chronicles is going to put you in the shoes of Altiar again for some epic quest that will apparently end the crusades by stealing a simple chalice from the templars. This seems to be one of the more promising iPhone games that I’ve heard of, but we’ll see how the graphics and interface of the hit video game transfer over to the mobile platform. Get pumped for Assassins Creed II. It’s starting to look pretty amazing.
